Baking for Share Our Strength

Bake-Sale-2011Last year, Renée Joslyn of Flamingo Musings asked me to bake for the National Bloggers Bake Sale to raise funds for Share Our Strength. Not being much of a baker, I wasn’t too convinced I should do it but I gave it a try and made some pretty decent zucchini bread. Now here I am baking again for the sale this Saturday, May 14 at Fairchild Tropical Garden.

Several other bloggers including Trina Sargalski of Miami Dish and Mandy Baca of A Hungry Artist, as well as Ciara LaVelle of Twice Baked, Yoly Ovalle of The Barefoot Goddess and Lynne Cohen of Girlyshoes, will also bake for the cause. And Renée will be selling her delicious Freakin’ Flamingo jams (if you haven’t tried them you should). I’m planning on making my favorite oatmeal-dulce de leche cookies. All proceeds go to Share Our Strength.

There will also be a raffle, which you can enter to win gift certificates to Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Eleanor Hoh’s Wok Star cooking classes, Cupcakes Noveau and 2 Girls and a Cupcake.

Stop by to see us from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you can’t and want to help, you can make a donation through the Miami team’s page. Fairchild admission is free for members and $25 for adult non-members. Save $2 off the price of admission with this coupon.
