Two years ago I wrote a post on Chinese New Year celebrations in Miami at the request of a reader. Today, I received an email asking if those places would likely hold celebrations this year. So, once again thanks to a reader, here are a few options for Chinese New Year in Miami. Chinese New Year starts on February 14 this year, year of the tiger.

This North Miami Beach restaurant will host a lion dance performance on Saturday, February 13 at 8:30 p.m.

On February 14, a live lion dance with percussionists performed by Kung Fu experts will take place at 8:00 p.m. Six specialty dishes will also be offered for the occasion from February 11th through February 18th. These include: King Prawn in Supreme Stock, Pan-Fried Flounder with XO Soya Sauce, Braised Abalone with Preserved Oyster, Stewing Pork Shank, Claypot Rice with Wind Dried Sausage and Duck Liver, and Four Treasure Consommé with Cashew Nut Puff.
