Choco-fest in pictures

I almost wish Fairchild Tropical Garden’s Chocolate Festival would’ve happened a few weeks ago during the cold spell. Hot, thick and spicy, Mayan chocolate would’ve been the perfect antidote to the cold. But despite the warmer weather I treated myself to a cup; it’s one of my favorite ways to enjoy chocolate. Thank goodness there was a tent to provide some shade.

This was my first time attending the festival and it was a good time. The milder temperatures definitely help to make it more enjoyable than, say, the mango festival. Here are some photos.

We arrived just in time to catch Talula’s Andrea Curto-Randazzo preparing brownies and bacon-and-chocolate fudge.

We then moved indoors to check out the vendors. Chocolate fountains, chocolate-covered strawberries, marshmallows and bananas, truffles …

We didn’t buy any sweets, instead we moved on to the chocolate-beer tasting.

The band by the beer tasting tent was putting us to sleep but over by the Mexican Tourism Board booth, mariachis were livening up the party. They had a larger audience than the chocolate.

  1. Looks amazing. Wished I could have gone.

  2. Rogue Double Chocolate Stout is one of my favorite beers and I really wouldn’t classify myself as a chocolate fan. I’d have liked to try that bacon fudge too.

Looks like the birds have shown how they feel for the art in the water lol
