Tickets to SoBe Wine & Food Fest on sale next week

SBWFF logoGet ready to pull out that credit card next Monday, October 26. Tickets to the 2010 South Beach Wine & Food Festival go on sale to the public that day and this year there are no second chances to score tickets for sold-out events. In previous years, a second batch of tickets was released in January, giving people an opportunity to snatch a ticket to the most coveted events. This year, the only way you can get a ticket to a sold-out event is with SoBe Bucks – gift certificates that can be applied to purchase festival tickets. Oh, but, those do not apply to sold-out seated dinners.

Have I confused you yet?

This year the festival will bring back its staple events: Amstel Light’s Burger Bash ($200) hosted by Rachael Ray, Perrier-Jouët’s BubbleQ ($350) hosted by Emeril and Wine Spectator’s Best of the Best ($350). These sell out quickly despite the prices. The Tribute Dinner ($525) will honor Daniel Boulud.

There are also a few new events that seem interesting. One is a tribute dinner to Windows on the World, the restaurant on the top floors of the World Trade Center. The dinner, to be held at Azul, will feature Michael Lomonaco, former chef at Windows on the World, and Kevin Zraly, the restaurant’s wine director.

Ming Tsai will be hosting a night of Dim Sum & Disco at the Setai ($150) with chefs Jonathan Wright of the Setai, David Muñoz Rosillo of DiverXo in Madrid, Tim Cushman of O Ya in Boston and the folks at Tropical Chinese Restaurant.

And finally, four local culinary darlings will be hosting a Design District restaurant crawl: Wine + Dine + Design ($275). You’ll eat one course each at Michael’s Genuine, Pacific Time, Fratelli Lyon and Señora. Martinez.
