Most holiday vendors’ holiday shipping deadlines have passed and if you’re like most people, you’re probably still scrambling for gifts for your loved ones. If you have any food lovers on your list, here are a few gift ideas available now in stores in Miami (meaning you won’t be paying in shipping almost the amount of the gift).
Giraffe Family Measuring Spoons ($28)

Available at Anthropologie on Lincoln Road. I spotted plenty of the cute ceramic measuring spoons on Sunday. (For some reason, they’re not on the store’s Web site so these may be the last ones.) 1108 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach; 305.695.0775
Emergency Chocolate ($5)
Â
“For immediate relief of: Chocolate cravings, lovesickness, exam pressure, mild anxiety and extreme hunger.†This one’s sure to get some laughs. Give it to a stressed out coworker or to those, who like me, gets the sugar bug mid-afternoon. Available at Restoration Hardware in Aventura Mall. (If you’re OK with the shipping charges, you can order online.) 19575 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura; 305.935.1253
Customized Six-Pack (Prices vary)

You could spend an hour looking at the selection of beers at Total Wine in North Miami Beach. But what’s best is that they sell beer bottles individually so you can make your own six pack (they provide the Total Wine six pack carton). You can find beers from all over the world, including some that sound scary to drink. Old Engine Oil anyone? D and I gave one to a friend and it was a big hit. 14750 Biscayne Blvd., North Miami Beach; 305.354.3270
Salsaaaaaa! ($4.99 each)
Â
How about some Pomegranate and Black Bean Salsa? Rosa Mexicano in Mary Brickell Village recently launched a line of food products. Their salsas, which also include Pineapple Salsa, Salsa Verde, Tomato-Chipotle Salsa and Chile Pasilla de Oaxaca Salsa, are for sale at the restaurant in pretty gift boxes (also available online). 900 South Miami Ave., Miami; 786-425-1001.
Delicious Organics ($25-$200)
Â
For the fruit and veggie lovers, why not a gift certificate to have organic produce delivered to their door. Gift certificate numbers can be emailed to the recipient or you. Perfect if you’re pressed for time. Not into gift certificates? Get an organic fruit basket delivered to their door ($50-$200 including delivery). www.deliciousorganics.com
15 Minutes of Wok Stardom ($65)
Â
Get them a cooking class! Even better, get them one where they’ll eat four courses and drink free-flowing prosecco while learning stir-frying techniques. www.eleanorhoh.com/classinfo.htm
Magnetic Kitchen Timer ($18)
Â
Keep track of your cooking times with this stainless steel kitchen timer. If nothing else, it makes for a good stocking stuffer. At Restoration Hardware. 19575 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura; 305.935.1253
My Favorite Restaurants Mini Journal ($8)
Â
Channel your inner food critic in this restaurants mini-journal. Track your restaurant visits, favorite dishes and more. Plus, it’s tiny so you can keep your anonymity. Available at Anthropologie. 1108 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach; 305.695.0775
Tea Time

The Pineapple Blossom Tea Room on Biscayne Blvd. has gift boxes and baskets. I especially loved the Four O’Clock Basket, which includes specialty tea, jam, scones, tea cakes and cookies. Yum! 8214 Biscayne Blvd, Miami; 305.754.8328
Foodie Fight ($18.95)
Â
OK, I broke my promise. You’ll probably need to get this one shipped – although a Sur La Table did just open in Pembroke Pines – but I couldn’t resist. This is the trivial pursuit of food. I’d love to challenge someone to this although I’d probably lose, but it could be fun. 301 SW 145th Terrace, Pembroke Pines; 954.266.3510

Great list! I love the mix and match six-pack of beer idea! I’ll challenge you to a game of Foodie Fight when I come to visit! It’s on like Donkey Kong.
Man, I read this too late… At least now I have another reason to get up to Total Wine - BEER!
