I would love to find one, but you have to really keep in mind the growing season here is different from the rest of the country. Not much thrives in our rainy season that lasts till about October. So October is when most of the growers plant produce, and it takes a few months to cultivate. I live in Broward and there's a grower called Batten's Farm in Davie. They are known for their strawberries (normally ready in late January) but they do get sell produce throughout the year. I try to buy what is locally grown and in season from them, good quality. They also sell fabulous homemade Milkshakes. Give them a try!

The only thing that comes close is the Homestead Market. I live in Coral Gables and the winter market here is pitiful. Nothing like California (or Mexico) where I used to live. But Homestead is interesting, if still kind of limited a drive.

Every farmers market in Miami blows. Even the one at Gardners only has one booth with a local organic grower, the rest are booths with people repackaging wholesale stuff. Either there's a huge disconnect between growers and consumers here or there aren't any growers to begin with.

It's a hunt, but it does seem to be getting better. The Farmers Market at Gardners Market in Pinecrest starts in January. Their produce is local and they have a huge booth of delicious Redland Organics produce, jams, dried fruit and (if you get there early enough) eggs.
Let's see how the Midtown one goes...

Is there a real farmers market in Miami ?
I've been to the one close to my home, Normandy isle, and none of the people there are growers. The same goes for the Lincoln Rd's market. I can even say the same thing about the Sunrise farmers market, where the vegetable and the fruits had the exact same plastic sticker than the one at the supermarket...
