Miami Spice? Not tonight

Had dinner at Sushi Samba tonight with a friend who was visiting from out of town and wanted to try their Miami Spice menu. Thing is, they weren’t offering it. Not until tomorrow, our waiter told us. My friend pointed out that Miami Spice started August 1. He said yeah, but we’re not starting until tomorrow. He confirmed they would be offering it on Sunday — just not this Sunday. He didn’t really explain why.

I was planning to order off their regular menu, so the news wasn’t as disappointing to me as it was to my friend who had chosen the restaurant specifically to try their Miami Spice menu. But still, if restaurants want to start offering Miami Spice dishes later than advertised, a little note on the website letting people know wouldn’t hurt.

  1. wow, thanks for letting everyone know. i was thinking of having a miamispice lunch there tomorrow and maybe i will choose somewhere else, cause i don’t want no trouble! hopefully they will shape up for the rest of miami spice.

  2. Hopefully they will have started today. I would just give them a call beforehand to make sure.

  3. Samba’s regular menu is better anyways IMO. I’ll be doing a review for Table 8 later tonite and will post when done. Sneak peak - the menu lacked in “wow factor” but the food was great! :)

  4. Sorry to hear that Perli didn’t get to enjoy the MS menu. I’ve read many complaints about restaurants being arbitrary with the specials and stories of second-class treatment of MS patrons. The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau organizes this event,I’m sure they would like to hear about this.
