Bites: This week in food (6/4 – 6/8)

A little late, but here are the news this week.

What does the world eat?

I came across TIME magazine’s photo essay What the World Eats. It’s based on the book Hungry Planet. The differences from country to country are interesting. What struck me the most was the abundance of fruit and vegetables in some diets (i.e. Mexico) versus others (i.e. U.S.).

Actor Danny DeVito and restauranteur David Manero will open DeVito South Beach in mid-June. (150 Ocean Drive). The restaurant’s signature dish will feature three types of Kobe beef.

  1. You know Danny Devito was here in Providence the same weekend you were here. He was at his daughter’s Brown U graduation. Not that this relates to food, but I thought it was freaky coincidence…BTW great bites…I love this entry…
