Earlier this week a coworker stopped by my desk and asked if I could recommend good recipe Web sites for his sister. I wrote him a quick email with my favorites not really planning on sharing its contents here. But when a friend in Chicago left me a voicemail last night asking for some sites where she could find recipes for her dinner party on Saturday (that’s two requests in the same week), I figured maybe someone would find my little email list useful. The email read:
Here are some of my favorites:
- Simply Recipes http://www.elise.com/recipes/
- Williams Sonoma (yes, I know it’s a store, but they have some good recipes especially for dinner parties) — http://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/index.cfm
- Everyday Food (the how-to videos are great) — http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=learn-cat&id=cat17922&rsc=msfooter
- All Recipes — http://allrecipes.com/
- Then there’s always the Food Network (which I’m sure your sister knows of): http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/cooking/
Hope those help.

My favorite is Epicurious - http://www.epicurious.com.
Funny, I was about to leave a comment that my favorite is Epicurious too! Well, that and the recipes I dig up on the food blogs I read. Most recent favorites from Orangette (http://orangette.blogspot.com/) and 101 Cookbooks (http://www.101cookbooks.com/index.html).
How could I forget Epicurious. It is in fact a good site and I like their blog. Thanks for adding to the suggestions.
Consumable Joy - Orangette is one of my favorite blogs out there. Her writing is so enjoyable to read and her recipes are great.
I haven’t checked out Williams-Sonoma for recipes. I bet they really have some good ones. They have a ton of cookbooks.
My two online recipe resources are the Food Network and Cooking Light’s website.
