This month, Mango & Lime is hosting its first food blogging event. Food Destinations is an international food blogging event created by Maki of I was just really very hungry. Each month, bloggers from different cities around the world showcase a food-related destination in their town.
Now, I understand that this is a challenging month for everyone with the Christmas festivities under way. I even have to apologize for posting this so late in the month. But in an effort to make this painless, I chose a theme to go with the holidays: “My Favorite Gourmet Gift Shopping Spot.”
By January 6, 2007, tell me about the place in your town where you would go to find the perfect gift for the gourmand in your life. Is there a store in your town where you feel like dropping all the money in your wallet every time you walk inside it? One that sells kitchen gadgets that would make any of us drool? Or a shop, perhaps, that sells beautifully packaged cookies and sweets? It doesn’t matter what the store sells, just think of it this way: if someone asked you where to get a foodie a gift they’d love, where would you take them? As in past Food Destinations, you may interpret “hometown” to mean the place where you live or the place where your heart is.
What do I need to participate?
- A blog where you can post your entry. It doesn’t have to be a food blog.
- A camera — although not a must, we really like to see pictures of the places you showcase in your town.
You must post your entry to your blog on or before Saturday, January 6, 2007.
Once you’ve posted your entry, please email me the permalink to your post along with your full name, the place where you live and any other information about you that I should include in the round-up.
Links and graphics
Please include a link to Food Destinations Central somewhere in your post. You can also use any of the graphics available on that page in your entry.
And the winner is…
The blogger with the best overall write-up of their favorite spot to shop for gourmet gifts will receive a copy of the book Will Write For Food: The Complete Guide To Writing Cookbooks, Restaurant Reviews, Articles, Memoir, Fiction and More by Diane Jacobs.
If you have any questions feel free to email paula-at-mango-and-lime-dot-net.
Good luck and happy shopping!
